"my father's property..."
From knowledge, it is known that Hassan is a Hazara which is a minority group in Afghanistan where Amir is a Pashtun which is the majority group in Afghanistan. In addition, Hassan is only a servant while Amir is the son of a wealthy Afghan man. This quote by Amir shows that he is born in a wealthy family. for owning a house in Afghanistan is difficult. Amir is able to say "my father's property" which shows the affect of being a Pashtun. As an ethinic majority, Pashtuns are more privledged. therefore are able to own property. Due to the fact that Amir's family is rich, he is able to return to a home everyday which he calls his. This illustrates that in Afghan culture, people with a higher status is able to own more while ones who are at lower status lives as servants. This is also a social issue where the lives of Afghans are based social status and ethnicity. This eliminates the chances of people of various ethnicities to collaborate and work as one.
