Imagery is evident here because there is details on the weather and how the gates rust overtime. The use of imagery  shows the decaying area and shows the surrounding of the cemetery where people do not go to a cemetery to clean up the graves. This imagery can also be applied to the larger area of Afghanistan by producing the picture of dusty grounds, minimal grass and decaying walls. It can be concluded that Hosseini uses imagery to allow readers to further understand the surroundings of an area.
